Even though songstress Adele is still at No. 1, hard rock and heavy metal have claimed top spots on the Billboard 200 chart this week, as new albums by Lamb of God and Lacuna Coil debut high on the latest album tally.

Lamb of God’s new disc ‘Resolution’ comes in at No. 3, selling 52,000 copies in its first week of release. This marks the band’s third Top 10 album, the last one being 2009’s ‘Wrath,’ which took the No. 2 spot with 68,000 units moved in its premiere week. This time around, Lamb of God are nestled in between country crooner Tim McGraw and the '2012 Grammy Nominees' CD.

Lacuna Coil’s new album ‘Dark Adrenaline’ debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart by selling nearly 20,000 copies in its first week of release. The No. 15 spot marks Lacuna Coil’s highest album chart debut ever. The disc's first single, 'Trip the Darkness,' is currently climbing up active rock chart, while the band itself is currently on the road as part of the Gigantour.
