Congrats are in order for Shattered Sun. In a very heated race, the band's Hope Within Hatred disc used a late push to edge past Alesana's Confessions album on the final day of voting to take the title as Loudwire's April 2015 Release of the Month.

10 Years, Dance Gavin Dance, Apocalyptica, Halestorm and Sworn In also put up solid vote totals as well, but Shattered Sun's Hope Within Hatred took the title with just over 30 percent of the final tally.

The group garnered the attention of Testament's Chuck Billy and his Breaking Bands LLC management partners Maria Ferrero and Jonny Zazula and soon began the uptick in their career. The group recently signed to Victory Records to bring their hard-hitting new album to the masses.

"This is more than just a band putting out an album, going on tour, or signing to a label," state the band. "This is living proof that no matter whom you are, where you're from, or what people tell you, you can overcome and turn dreams into reality."

The six-piece band features vocalist Marcos Leal, guitarists Daniel Trejo and Jessie Santos, keyboardist Henry Garza, bassist Joseph Guajardo and drummer Robert Garza. Together, they've teamed with producer Robert Beltran to put together a disc that is brutally heavy in some moments, while showing a knack for finely crafted melody in other parts.

The group just debuted the lyric video for "The Ultimatum" at Loudwire. Other standouts on the disc include the anthemic title track, plus the unbridled fury of "Burning Regrets" and the technical heaviness of "Reign Over Me." Fans will get a chance to experience the band's new music soon as they'll open for Testament and Exodus on their upcoming spring trek. Dates can be found here.

As for Hope Within Hatred, the disc drops on April 21 and those interested can pre-order the effort in a variety of options at this location.

Once again, our congrats to Shattered Sun, as Hope Within Hatred has been voted as Loudwire's April 2015 Release of the Month.
