The experience known as the Gathering of the Juggalos is set to take place this year at Hog Rock in Cave-in-Rock, Ill. on Aug. 7-11. Branching out a bit, Soulfly (not to be confused with Blowfly who are also playing) and Sevendust are slated to perform for the face-painted crowd that unites every year to celebrate their favorite bands and the Juggalo lifestyle.

Soulfly is former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera’s primary outfit since 1997 after leaving Sepultura the year before. Their music carries on with the approach taken from Sepultura’s album ‘Roots’ with the nu-metal grooves and tribal influences. As of late, the band have rediscovered a bit of their more thrashy influences and have begun to integrate them back into the music. Max Cavalera’s son Zyon Cavalera can now be seen behind the kit, pummeling away to the songs his father made famous.

Sevendust are out campaigning behind their ninth studio album ‘Black Out the Sun.’ The alternative metal band have been delivering their hard-hitting brand of music since their debut album in 1997. The well-received new album has fans excited to once again catch the band ripping it up on stage. The Gathering of the Juggalos is a chance for Sevendust to play for a massive crowd consisting of die-hard fans as well as some that may become converts.

Soulfly and Sevendust will share the stage with a number of acts, including the event's host and headlining act Insane Clown Posse along with Tech N9ne, Kottonmouth Kings, Twiztid, and the one and only Vanilla Ice. Not only can fans catch these bands all in one place, but comedians like Jim Norton and Charlie Murphy will be performing as well to provide some diversity to the festival.
