The third annual Louder Than Life Festival is set to return to Louisville later this year, carving out the weekend of Oct. 1 and 2 on the schedule. The fest, organized by Danny Wimmer Presents, will not only boast a stellar lineup featuring headliners Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot, but also a taste of the local flavor in the form of both food and drink.

Rounding out the Saturday lineup in addition to Avenged Sevenfold will be Slayer, the Cult, the Pretty Reckless, Pierce The Veil, Cheap Trick, Chevy Metal, Anthrax, Motionless In White, Hellyeah, Sick Puppies, the Amity Affliction, Avatar, Neck Deep, Young Guns, Being As An Ocean, '68, Twelve Foot Ninja and Dinosaur Pile Up.

Performing under Slipknot on Sunday is another star-studded lineup, consisting of Disturbed, Korn, Ghost, Alter Bridge, Clutch, Biffy ClyroPop Evil, Skillet, Sevendust, Zakk Sabbath, Parkway Drive, Trivium, Kyng, SkindredAdelitas Way, Crobot, Smashing Satellites and Sabaton.

“Louisville: The home of bourbon. Great people. Great food. How can those ingredients not make a perfect place to have a festival?," pondered organizer Danny Wimmer. "This is a place you have to visit if you’re a lover of bourbon, a lover of food… a lover of life. I asked my team how we could top last year’s Louder Than Life sellout. The easy answer? Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold."

Wimmer will personally curate the Gourmet Man Food section of the festival, which will bring in dozens of options and will feature celebrity chefs Edward Lee, Tom Coghill, Bill Kunz and Jonathan Schwartz. In addition to the food will be plenty of craft beer and spirit options, especially bourbon -- a Kentucky favorite.

Early bird tickets, VIP options and hotel and camping packages will all be available tomorrow, June 1. For more information, head to the Louder Than Life website.
