Over the last decade, dozens of groups have sprung up to pay homage to the rock gods of the '70s and early '80s. The retro-rock wave has been one of the most exciting scenes to watch over during these years and Germany's Travelin Jack are one of its best representatives. They're poised to unleash their sophomore album, Commencing Countdown, on Sept. 8 and have partnered with Loudwire to bring you the hard-charging new jam "Cold Blood."

If you're a younger music fan, odds are you've been handed down a few records from parents or older siblings trying to show you the righteous path to rock 'n' roll. Now you can flip the script and show them the music they held true is still roaring with the same white-hot glow that lit the world on fire all those years ago. "Cold Blood" is a riff-hungry rocker that rides a galloping guitar lick on the wings of the Alia Spaceface's convincingly dominant pipes. After the mid-section, all drops out and Travelin Jack take a doomy approach to winding the track down over the final two minutes.

"Cold Blood" captures the sound of that narrow window in time when hard rock gradually became heavy metal, blurring the lines between the two perfectly. “We don’t care what other people think about us, whether we rub them the wrong way or polarise,” says guitarist Flo 'The Fly' Kraemer. “We do what we believe in and what we enjoy most.”
