While there has been talk of new Nine Inch Nails music, band leader Trent Reznor has also continued his composing career. Reznor and his composing partner Atticus Ross have teamed up to lend their skills to the new soundtrack for an environmental documentary titled Before the Flood.

The film was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Fisher Stevens, and also includes contributions from Mogwai and film composer Gustavo Santaolalla. The Reznor-Ross pairing has translated quite well to the film world, as the pair won an Oscar for their score to The Social Network. They also did the scores for David Fincher's films The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl, and recently shared a song inspired by NASA's Juno mission to Jupiter.

As for the film, DiCaprio and Stevens traveled to multiple locations around the world to witness the effects of human activity, pollution and climate change. The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival this past week and will screen in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 21, before receiving an airing on the National Geographic Channel on Oct. 30.
