A Perfect Circle gave Sacramento, Calif. the very first taste of “The Doomed” in concert. During their first show of the fall, APC saved their new single for the final song of the night… and it was wonderful.

A Perfect Circle unveiled the first taste of their fourth studio album last week and it’s already reached over a million plays on YouTube. “The Doomed” is one of the most progressive tracks in A Perfect Circle’s catalogue, switching from gigantic to minimalistic throughout its runtime. The band also used the opportunity to confirm their new album will drop in 2018, so we’re already looking forward to the new year.

The Aftershock 2017 crowd were treated to a 12-song set by A Perfect Circle, which included another new song debuted live earlier this year, “Hourglass.” Maynard, Billy and co. pulled off the dynamic “Doomed” beautifully, eliciting thunderous cheer from the festival crowd.

“Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe,” Maynard James Keenan says of the new cut. “A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder.”
