The United States has experienced roughly 250 mass shootings (four or more people shot) in 2019 alone. In response to the tragic violence in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, various musicians have offered their opinions on guns while sending their thoughts to those affected.

Guns have been a point of contention amongst Americans for decades. The U.S. has failed to solve the issue of mass shootings or make meaningful steps toward solving the issue. Some believe an assault weapons ban is the right course of action, while others advocate for a larger focus on mental health care or even more guns. As always, video games and metal music have been targeted, in part because the Ohio shooter was wearing an Acacia Strain sweatshirt.

Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider had a long period of discussion with fans, as a gun owner himself:

Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick also took the opportunity to have some dialogue with fans:

All That Remains vocalist and outspoken Second Amendment supporter Phil Labonte pondered a different question apart from gun availability:

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong send a healing message to the people of El Paso:

Lamb of God guitarist and solo artist Mark Morton tweeted about the shootings before burying someone who disapproved:

Loudwire would like to send our deepest condolences to all those affected by the massacres in El Paso and Dayton.
