Houston, are you ready for round two? After making its debut in 2016, battling inclement weather, Danny Wimmer Presents Houston Open Air will return to the Lone Star State on Oct. 14 and 15 for a weekend of horn-throwing and headbanging at Texas' biggest rock experience.

Last year, Houston Open Air booked headliners Avenged Sevenfold and Alice in Chains, with bands like Deftones, Slayer, Chevelle, The Cult, Ministry, Alter Bridge, GhostSevendust, Baroness, HellyeahBuckcherry and a lot more rounding out a strong lineup.

There should be no shortage of high-profile talent this year with over 25 acts expected to perform. The lineup announcement will be made on Monday, June 12 at 8:30AM CT with tickets going on sale Friday, June 16 at the festival's website. The festival has also been moved from NRG Park to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater in The Woodlands, Texas, only 30 miles north of Houston.

Houston Open Air was met with some major complications during its inaugural year as storms and lightning plagued the weekend, forcing cancellations as the festival placed a primary concern on the safety of the attendees, bands and crews. Avenged Sevenfold made the best of the situation, securing a venue 15 miles away, booking a last-minute gig so at least a portion of the festival ticket holders could catch the band.

Danny Wimmer Presents CEO Danny Hayes apologized for the cancellations, promising to come back "bigger and better."
