The Metal Maya destination festival in Mexico just keeps getting better. Metal Allegiance were previously announced for the event, but they've now revealed something special they've got planned for those in attendance. The group will play one set dedicated to the life and legacy of Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister while their other set is dedicated to the one and only Metallica bassist Cliff Burton.

You may remember back in January, Metal Allegiance played a show in Los Angeles dedicated to their "Fallen Heroes" in which Cliff Burton's father, Ray Burton, was on hand to see their tribute. During that same show, they also paid respect to Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister. But each of the scheduled sets at Metal Maya will allow the band to go more in depth in terms of honoring the two legendary musicians.

Metal Allegiance founder Mark Menghi says, "We couldn’t come to Mexico during Dia de los Muertos and not honor such a sacred event ourselves. Lemmy and Cliff were the first two to come to mind. They were both major influences in not only our lives and careers, but millions of others’ as well. We played our first Metal Allegiance show on Motörhead’s Motörboat, and will be forever grateful to the man. These two were and will forever be legends. Metal Maya is in for some really killer moments!"

Metal Allegiance guest performer Kyle Sanders of Hellyeah adds, “Pretty damn honored and excited about joining my boys in Metal Allegiance down in Mexico for Metal Maya! Couldn't think of a better place for tacos and metal! Cheers!!”

The Metal Allegiance lineup for Metal Maya includes Menghi, Sanders, Mike Portnoy, Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson, Phil Demmel, Gary Holt, Mark Osegueda, Steve "Zetro" Souza and Ryan Waste, with other guests still to be revealed.

The festival is set to take place from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 at the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun, just south of Cancun on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. In addition to Metal Allegiance, you'll also find Anthrax, Hatebreed, Overkill, Superjoint, Death Angel, Whitechapel, Crowbar, Prong, Kyng, Otep and others playing sets throughout the event.

In addition to playing the sets, Metal Allegiance and Nuclear Blast are teaming up with Jackson Guitars and artist Ron Williams to provide Metal Maya guests with truly special guitars. From now through when rooms for the event sell out, those making a reservation at the Metal Maya website using the promo code "METAL ALLEGIANCE" will be entered to win one of three prize packages.
