We’ve got the early announcement on the first ever Metal Maya destination festival! Set near Cancun, Mexico, the four-day event is an all-inclusive resort vacation along with a metal festival featuring Anthrax, Overkill, Superjoint, Death Angel, Metal Allegiance, Otep, Tim 'Ripper' Owens and more acts to be announced!

Metal Maya will be held from Oct. 29 - Nov. 2 at the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun, just south of Cancun in Puerto Morelos on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Fans can celebrate Halloween in paradise, as Metal Maya has a bunch of cool stuff planned for Oct. 31 with some more spooky activities set for Nov. 1, also known as the Day of the Dead, during which fans will be encouraged to dress up in calaca (skull) masks and sugar skull makeup.

As for Metal Allegiance, the all-star band lineup will feature Phil Demmel (Machine Head), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), Mark Menghi, Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Mike Portnoy, Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus), Ryan Waste (Municipal Waste) and more special guests. Metal Maya will be hosted by SiriusXM's Jose Mangin.

"I've been going down to Riviera Cancun for a few years now, and it's one of my favorite places," said Anthrax's Charlie Benante. "And now, to go down there and play, and have some fun, and enjoy the weather?! This is going to be an awesome event! I'm really excited about it and I think that everyone's going to have a great time. We're all going to be at a place where the weather's beautiful, the ocean's there, the drinks are pouring, the metal is blasting, and your favorite bands are playing. Can't wait to see you there!"

Jose Mangin adds, “Far beyond honored to host this first of its kind Metal-themed vacation with so many killer bands, friends ... and in gorgeous Mexico on Halloween?! I love how exotic our Metal world is getting, and look forward to partying among the living ... and with the spirits of the dead! Under the serpent sun…we shall MOSH!”

The producer of the event, ASK4 Entertainment's Alan Koenig, states, "We plan to summon the dark spirits of Halloween, celebrate Día de los Muertos, and pay tribute to our Metal Gods, with an incredible lineup of metal greats! And we’ll probably step up to the altar of indulgence for several Lemmys (Jack & Cokes) between the shows, pools, and the beach!"

Packages for Metal Maya start at $1399 per person and it’s all-inclusive, meaning accommodations, food, transportation from the airport and even alcohol is all part of the package. About a dozen bands will play Metal Maya, with the headliners playing two shows each, so stay tuned as more acts are announced.

Metal Maya packages go on sale today (April 12) at 1PM ET. There’s only room for 1,000 guests, so click here for all the info!
