Here's a true battle of titans. Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci is truly one of the greatest players of all time. There may be nothing Petrucci can't play, as Dream Theater's music constantly takes twists and turns into fusion territory. Shredding for well over three decades, Petrucci has been on the high end of many "greatest guitarist" lists, further cementing his unique legacy.

Though Vivian Campbell is a longtime member of Def Leppard and has performed with Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, among others, Campbell rose to prominence with Ronnie James Dio's project Dio. Vivian Campbell to Ronnie James Dio is that of Randy Rhoads to Ozzy Osbourne. After Dio started his eponymous band, Campbell's virtuosic fret-melting guitar solos along with his powerful riffs were truly unique for its time. There's a phenomenal amount of power in Campbell's work, which is still celebrated today
