The Southern gentleman of heavy metal band Mastodon have unveiled their new song 'Spectrelight' off of their upcoming release, 'The Hunter.'

The song features vocals from Neurosis singer Scott Kelly, who is a familiar voice to Mastodon fans. Kelly has appeared on previous Mastodon tunes, as well. He served as guest vocalist on tracks such as 'Crack the Skye,' off of the album of the same name; 'Crystal Skull' off of 2006's 'Blood Mountain'; and 'Aqua Dementia' off of Mastadon's 2004 concept album 'Leviathan.'

"Mastodon approaches their sound honestly and from a mind at unity," says Kelly of the latest collaboration. "I am honored to continue to be a part of their creative process, and to once again have the chance to join them on this expression that is undoubtedly their most adventurous work to date."

'Spectrelight' is the third song to be released off 'The Hunter,' following 'Curl of the Burl' and 'Black Tongue.' Check out our review of 'Curl of the Burl' here. 'The Hunter' drops Sept. 27
