Morbid Angel have just announced their return to the studio! The legendary death metal band has signed a fresh deal with UDR Music and will release a new full-length album in 2017.

Morbid Angel’s importance can not be understated in the death metal community. The band’s legendary debut, Altars of Madness, is beloved as one of metal’s most perfect and influential albums. Unfortunately, longtime frontman David Vincent is no longer a member of the band, despite returning to record 2011’s Illud Divinum Insanus, which was heavily criticized by faithful Morbid Angel fans.

Still with Morbid Angel is founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth and returning vocalist / bassist Steve Tucker. "We are extremely excited to be in this partnership with UDR," says Tucker. "We are looking forward to making a great album and destroying the stage at many shows. UDR is a great label that supports the bands that they believe in, and we are proud to be one of those bands! Looking forward to a successful partnership!"

At this time, there are no specific details on Morbid Angel’s ninth studio album. Azagthoth and Tucker plan to begin writing and recording soon. Along with a 2017 album, the year will see Morbid Angel return to the road for a tour.
