It's fitting that on Halloween we get one of the more sinister videos of the year! That platitude falls to Newsted, who are exclusively premiering their new video for 'King of the Underdogs' here at Loudwire.

While frontman Jason Newsted is quite a nice guy in real life, you might think he was a little possessed in the clip for 'King of the Underdogs.' That’s because the combination of red spotlights, interesting double image shots, Newsted facial expressions and body movements and some killer guitar that sets the musical tone would give you that impression. And Newsted himself does nothing to dissuade you from this notion, even using his fingers to mimic devil horns toward the end of the clip.

In addition to scaring the bejeezus out of you with certain shots, the 'King of the Underdogs' video is also a solid performance showcase for the band. There's killer licks, chugging riffs and an overall heaviness that makes 'King of the Underdogs' one of the 'Heavy Metal Music' album's true standout tracks.

Newsted says of the self-proclaimed "metal as f---" video: "Awesome vibes captured in Oakland, Calif. in September 2013 by director Leon Melas, of 'Soldierhead' fame, who has outdone himself again through this electrifying performance by 'Heavy Metal Music' makers Newsted, Mushok, Mendez & Farnsworth. Check it out my friends!! Listen to metal!"

'King of the Underdogs' appears on the 'Heavy Metal Music' album (available at iTunes). Look for Newsted playing the Soundwave Festival in Australia early next year. Dates can be found here.
