Tenacious D Explode All Over New York City
Wow. The only word that can come even close to describing a Tenacious D concert is simply wow.
From brand new songs like 'Low Hangin' Fruit' and 'Senorita' to classics like 'Kielbasa' and 'Wonderboy,' the D bring it with every single solitary minute of their of their live show.
Playing to a sold-out crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, the duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass could not be stopped. Whether it was pumping up the crowd during a mosh-pit inducing rendition of 'Deth Starr' or serenading New Yorkers with a sweet version of 'Dude (I Totally Miss You),' the D rocked the socks off of every individual in attendance.
Black and Gass know what they're doing. Before playing the fan favorite 'Roadie' off of the duo's latest record 'Rize of the Fenix,' Black stood back and let his roadie Patrick dab the sweat off of his manly face. After the face-melting performance of 'Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown),' the boys of the D tore into an epic medley inspired by none other than the Who.
We told you they know what they're doing.
If you've never seen Tenacious D perform live, you have absolutely no idea what you're missing. Sure, there's a gigantic male genitalia and alien squid onstage, but more than that, there's tune after tune of pure adrenaline fueled rock 'n' roll. If 'Throw Down' doesn't blow you away, the encore of 'Dio' surely will.
Tenacious D have only begun their takeover of the United States. If you haven't seen them live yet, don't hesitate. Take advantage of the live show the D has to offer. If you miss it, you'll miss out on an eargasm only Gass and Black can deliver. Because, after all, nobody can destroy the metal ... Jack Black says so.
