The Ghost of Ohio is closing in. Andy Black is just a couple of weeks out from his latest solo album and he's ready to share another song with fans ahead of the release. The uplifting rocker "The Promise" now has a lyric video that can be seen in the player below.

The video for the track is set against the the backdrop of time-lapsed footage driving through the roads and tunnels (perhaps of Ohio) at night. The song is a reflective track, thinking back to the singer's youth and all the plans he'd made and it's a high energy track accentuated by piano flourishes and a driving drum beat.

“’The Promise’ was inspired by my days spent driving from my neighborhood on the west side of Cincinnati and heading towards the city and into northern Kentucky where I spent almost all of my teenage years in bands, working on a dream,” says Black. “Every day I would use that drive as a chance to plan and think and hope and wish that one day I would be able to make music and tour the world. Over the years that dream has remained, but like all of us as we grow up, often our interests and methods change over time. This song is about trying to remain true to what you wanted the most when you had nothing and keeping that very same passion and drive close to your heart.”

The track follows on the heels of "Westwood Road" and the album's title track, which have already been introduced to fans. All three songs are now available as instant downloads for those pre-ordering The Ghost of Ohio. The album is due April 12 and you can get your order in here.

Andy Black will support the album, first with a spring headline tour, then taking part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Disrupt Festival this summer. See the dates listed below.
