Yesterday (Feb. 24), a story about singer Joey Belladonna and his relationship with his Anthrax bandmates was met with some surprise by fans. In a recent interview, Belladonna claimed that he's never quite found his place in Anthrax, rarely speaks with his bandmates and is "only allowed so much friendship" with the instrumental section of the band. In response, guitarist Scott Ian has addressed the situation, publicly stating that Ian loves the Anthrax vocalist.

"I don’t think I’ve ever really found my place with this band," Belladonna claimed during an interview with Swedish Rock Magazine. "I mean, as much as we do what we do, it’s so corporate in its own way. But, yeah, it doesn’t get much better than it is now, but it could be a whole lot better, too, at the same time. [I'm] only allowed so much friendship. I don’t even talk with [the other guys in the band] right now. I mean, there’ll be a few e-mails, but they’re so short. It’s not like I sit on the horn [telephone] and talk with Charlie [Benante, drums] all day. He don’t have time for me. I do, but they just don’t, you know?! It’s only out of necessity [that they keep in contact with me]."

Scott Ian is constantly keeping in touch with fans via social media, so it's no surprise the guitarist read Belladonna's comments shortly after they became public. Just hours after fans began to share Belladonna's story, Ian tweeted a quick, reassuring message:

Anthrax are currently working on their 11th studio album, so hopefully this bump in the road won't effect the legendary thrash band's new record. Stay tuned for all your Anthrax updates.
