Our first look at the Frank Zappa hologram has arrived and it’s speaking out against censorship. In a new video released by Zappa’s team and Eyellusion, a dispute with Ticketmaster is addressed, stemming from a poster the ticketing site refused to post because it featured a penguin with bare human buttocks.

The touring hologram of legendary musical futurist Frank Zappa will debut in April, heading across the U.S. for nine shows before venturing off to Europe for an additional seven performances. According to a press release from the Zappa Family Trust, the tour post was “curiously censored” by Ticketmaster, who cited the imaged for “questionable content.”

The image pays tribute to Zappa’s 1974 song “Penguin in Bondage”:

The hologram repeats a Zappa quote from 1984, "I'm a person who likes to do what he wants to do...whether people like it or not and what I do is designed for people who like it, not for people who don't."

"If you're someone that can't enjoy the absurdity and humor of bringing Frank's music and lyrics to life via holograms--such as penguins in bondage, talking hot dogs and super natural dental floss--this show might not be your cup of tea,” says Ahmet Zappa. “In response to Ticketmaster, I re-submit the poster artwork with our newly updated Warning Guarantee hiding the buttocks of the cartoon penguin. I mean, seriously Ticketmaster?"

The Warning Guarantee was a famous label Frank Zappa would slap on his records in response to the PMRC’s crackdown on language in music. Zappa would testify before Congress on Sept. 19, 1985 to successfully advocate for free speech.
