Another new song from the supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra has been released. Listen to the clever and catchy "Blood Moon" above.

The band's lineup includes vocalist William DuVall (Alice in Chains), guitarists Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan) and Brent Hinds (Mastodon), bassist Pete Griffin (Dethklok) and drummer Thomas Prigden (ex-Mars Volta).

Their debut album Broken Lines is set for a Sept. 23 release. It's available for pre-order via Pledge Music in digital and physical form along with numerous other bundles with goodies ranging from a limited edition belt buckle to a signed handwritten lyric sheet to an autographed Brent Hinds or Ben Weinman guitar. You can also pre-order the album via iTunes.

As to where the band's unusual name originated, Hinds told Rolling Stone, "During the time Mastodon was there for Soundwave, I was at the zoo in Sydney, Australia and was checking out the giraffes. [Giraffes] are amazing animals – one just grabbed a bunch of bananas from my hand with its tongue and peeled them with it as well – by the time the bananas got to its mouth, they were ready to be eaten.  I saw Ben and said 'Man I think I found the name for our band.'"
