Hellyeah Celebrating Vinnie Paul With One-Night-Only Concert
On May 11, Hellyeah will perform a one-night-only special show, celebrating the life and legacy of Vinnie Paul.
The event will be at the House of Blues in Las Vegas and tickets will go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. PST. Packages are on sale as of noon today (March 4). There are no details as to who will be playing drums for the concert, though Hellyeah's message about "metal family" on Facebook suggests that it could be a number of guests.
Later this year, Hellyeah will release what is presumed to be their final album. On it are Vinnie Paul's drum tracks, which were recorded before his death on June 11, 2018. So far, the band has only released a brief teaser clip. They've also shot a new music video and recently asked fans to submit their photos with Vinnie Paul for the artwork for the album.
It was determined that the drummer died of an enlarged heart and coronary artery disease.
His loss was lamented by countless musicians and despite his overwhelming influence on heavy metal, Vinnie Paul was snubbed from the Grammys' "in memoriam" tribute segment this year. Plenty of rock and metal musicians came to his defense, calling out the Grammys over the exclusion.
