Metalheads Jam Ripping ‘Power Rangers’ Cover on Bagpipes + Guitar
If you grew up in the ‘90s, chances are nostalgia will bring you to theaters for the new Power Rangers movie. A staple of Power Rangers lore is, of course, the iconic theme song, and two metalheads have come together to record a ripping cover on guitar and bagpipes!
The Power Rangers movie is currently No. 2 at the U.S. box office, second only to the monstrously popular Beauty and the Beast. Critics haven’t been too kind to the adaptation, but ‘90s kids have been praising Power Rangers as the throwback they were hoping for.
A YouTuber who goes by the name The Snake Charmer has been delivering killer rock and metal bagpipe covers for a couple of years, bringing tracks like AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and Lamb of God’s “Walk With Me in Hell” to the ancient instrument. Those videos are impressive, but you’ve got to hear her cover of the ripping Power Rangers guitar solos on bagpipes. It’s insane!
Power Rangers theme composer Ron Wasserman even gave his seal of approval to the cover:
F—K YEAH!!!!! OMG! I'm getting chills listening to this. Absolutely amazing! I'm absolutely floored.... honest to God. PS - BEST Bagpipe playing and sound I have EVER heard!!!!!!!!!
The Snake Charmer responded, “OMFGGGGGGGG!!!!!! I SCREAMED reading the last line of your comment. WOW thank you sooooo much RON, this is the best reward to get after working hard on trying to do justice to your awesome composition!! Yayy Thank youuuu i can't stop smiling.”
