Monster Truck Unite Us All With Catchy Rock in ‘For the People’ Video
Got a case of election blues? Monster Truck have just the cure with their brand new video for the song "For the People." The band just released the animated clip ahead of the election and if nothing else, it delivers a catchy, energetic feel that we can all get behind.
As you can see, the video doesn't take sides, but does speak to the empowerment of the people in having their voting say. The clip features artwork mirroring some of the great animated videos of the '70s.
"We wanted the video to capture a certain vibe," says singer-bassist Jon Harvey. "The song was intended to be a pseudo-protest and very roots rock and the 70s animation seem to speak to that. Besides nothing is cooler than hand-drawn animation. The illustrators and animators executed it perfectly." Giving credit where it's due, Brett Lamb, Leslie Supnet and Eric Kim illustrated the eye-catching Kyle Griblin-directed clip, with animation by David Mayzis, Les Solis and Greg Zajac.
"For the People" is featured on Monster Truck's Sittin' Heavy album. The band just wrapped up a massive world tour in support of the disc and are taking a year-end break from the road before chewing up more pavement in North America early next year. The group have already booked dates in Canada supporting Billy Talent in February and March before heading off to the U.K. See all of their scheduled stops below.
