Sad news to report as longtime Mr. Big drummer Pat Torpey (pictured at the far left above) has revealed that he's been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

"I've been dealing with Parkinson's symptoms for the past couple of years and only recently received a confirmed diagnosis as symptoms worsened," says Torpey in a statement "I intend to fight the disease with the same intensity and tenacity that I drum and live my life by and will continue recording and performing, as always, to the best of my ability."

As a result of his condition, Torpey will not be able to perform his normal drumming duties on the band's upcoming tour dates. Mr. Big will announce a primary drummer in the near future who will handle the bulk of the stick work on the band's fall 2014 tour. The group will be supporting their upcoming album, '… The Stories We Could Tell.'

Torpey won't be completely absent, however, as he expects to jump on the drums for suitable songs and may participate in the group's acoustic sets, as well. Mr. Big expect to return to the road in October and November for their World Tour. Dates can be found here.

Mr. Big had a monster hit in 1991 with the ballad 'To Be With You,' and also scored hits with the songs 'Just Take My Heart' and 'Wild World.'
