Protest the Hero's album Fortress was a landmark for metalcore as a genre, combining metallic heaviness with forward thinking progressiveness. Ten years later, it holds up excellently, and the group will be celebrating it with a ten year North American Tour.

The tour will start in Detroit March 22 and it runs throughout North America, hitting both coasts in the U.S.A. and Canada, before ending its run in Toronto on May 4. As of yet, there are no announced support acts for the tour, but they will be revealed in January of next year.

Former Protest the Hero bassist and lyricist Arif Mirabdolbaghi described the album, "If I had to reduce it to its simplest form, the concept is about the re-emerging of goddess worship and the erosion of faith in scientific process."

Added lead vocalist Rody Walker, "This album is nothing to be intellectualized. All talk of wonder, pathos and optimism aside. I feel it's a very natural progression for us. A natural progression into further obscurity."

Check out tour dates below, and look out for tickets to go on sale Friday, Dec. 1 at 10AM ET via the band's website.
