Ratt's Stephen Pearcy has revealed that the hair metal icons intend on releasing new material next year, which would be their first since the Infestation album came out in 2010.

The band has not been entirely productive over the last 30 years, issuing just two albums since the release of 1990's Detonator. The battle over the Ratt name and the corresponding lineups between the two versions of the group have almost been too much to keep up with. With just Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier remaining from the group's classic lineup, the tandem will be at work on new songs.

In an interview with Sleaze Roxx, the singer bemoaned the lack of support for his last solo album, 2018's View to a Thrill, and suggested that another solo record could surface "within a year." Writing for Ratt, however, is the primary focus as he revealed, "Right now, we are concentrating on a couple of new Ratt songs for next year and a video and some other things. So you know, we have a lot to accomplish here."

"Well, first, it’s going to be Juan and myself," he replied after being asked which members will take part in the writing. "You know, 'Lack of Communication,' 'You’re in Love' and all these other songs that we co-wrote together — so we’re going to try along those veins for songwriting. And we’ll see what happens. I have plenty of ideas. Juan‘s got plenty of ideas and we’ll see what the other guys have to offer down the line."

Next year could be a big year for classic hair metal as Bret Michaels told Loudwire that Poison are targeting 2020 for the release of a new song as well as some more touring.

Ratt will be performing sporadically throughout 2019 and a list of tour dates can be seen below.
