Update: Slayer issued a press release on their Loudwire Music Awards victory. In it, director BJ McDonnell issued the following statement: "We were up against some serious talent and great videos all around, and I'm just overjoyed that we won. Everyone in our cast and crew worked their butts off to have the video truly represent the song and the band, and we think we achieved that. Working with Slayer has been a dream and I really hope to do it again soon. Thanks to everyone who voted for 'Repentless.'"

Slayer's bloody clip for "Repentless" has been voted the Best Metal Video of 2015 in the 5th Annual Loudwire Music Awards.

Slayer went all-out with the title track of their 12th studio album. Shot in an actual prison, "Repentless" features awesome cameos from Machete badass Danny Trejo and Halloween's own Michael Myers, Tony Moran. Violence is the centerpiece for "Repentless," and Slayer are unapologetic in their approach.

This bloodbath was the directing debut of BJ McDonnell, who made his name as a cameraman who helped film silver screen flicks like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and The Interview. The prisoners let loose in "Repentless" battle each other and cops from beginning to end, with one unlucky individual getting decapitated.

Slayer's "Repentless" video just edged out Slipknot's "Killpop" clip to win Best Metal Video of 2015. Check out the winning video above!
