The festival season just got a little more interesting for SoCal music fans. Two newly announced events have popped up, both taking place at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif. The first is the Taste of Chaos festival, a brand familiar to those who loved their pop/punk, emo and hardcore acts last decade. While the second is a new event called the It's Not Dead festival, which features more punk and ska outfits.

After five years dormant, Warped Tour creator Kevin Lyman and Mayhem co-founder John Reese are reviving the Taste of Chaos festival, making it a one-day, single-destination event taking place in San Bernardino on Oct. 3. Led by Jimmy Eat World, The Used and Dashboard Confessional, the festival definitely is rooted in the acts that helped make it thrive in the 2000s. Other performers on the bill include the reunited Thrice, All-American Rejects, Glassjaw, Saves the Day, Story of the Year, the Movielife, Finch, Mark Hoppus, Greek Fire and Adair. Tickets go on sale this coming Monday (June 22).

Then, one week later on Oct. 10, the It's Not Dead fest will rock the San Manuel Amphitheater. As stated, there's a mix of punk and ska at this event. Bad Religion, Pennywise, Descendents, Fishbone, Anti-FlagNOFX, Goldfinger, The Vandals, Less the Jake, H20, Reel Big Fish, The Bouncing Souls, Strung Out, Lagwagon and 7 Seconds are among the top-billed acts.

Meanwhile fans can catch The Adolescents, Agent Orange, CJ Ramone, Devils Brigade, Duane Peters Gunfight, Manic Hispanic, Pulley, Riverboat Gamblers, Sham 69, Swingin' Utters, The Dickies and TSOL trolling the second stage. There's also a third stage that features DI, Left Alone, Otherize, Rhythmic Asylum, The Briggs, The Interrupters, The Untouchables and Total Chaos. And yes, Vans will be on hand with their Old Skool Jam skaters. Tickets for the It's Not Dead festival also go on sale this coming Monday (June 22).

So SoCal music fans, come get your punk on over two successive weekends, and for those out of state, make it a vacation and bookend it with these standout shows. Keep up with the Taste of Chaos and It's Not Dead websites for festival and ticketing details.
