The flying skull neck tat belongs to Metallica's James Hetfield.

Hetfield has quite a bit of ink on his body. One being four cards (ace, 9, 6, 3) that represents the year he was born. The cards are surrounded by flames in remembrance of the pyro accident he was involved in during a Metallica show in Montreal Canada in 1992. The tattoo also has the words 'Carpe Diem,' said to be a reference to the song 'Carpe Diem Baby' on their 1997 album 'ReLoad.'

Metallica just celebrated their 30th year as a band together with a string of intimate shows in San Francisco, Calif. at the Fillmore.

They will also will be kicking off their very own music festival later this summer in Atlantic City called Orion Music + More, read all about it here.
