The Winery Dogs are emerging from their studio with a new album and fans will have plenty of chances to catch the hard rocking trio on the road this fall. The group just announced that they've titled their sophomore set, Hot Streak, and they'll release the effort on Oct. 2 via Loud & Proud Records.

The band's self-produced album will be preceded by the lead single "Oblivion," which is set to impact at radio on Aug. 25. In addition, the band will be offering a double vinyl edition of the album that's expected to arrive in early November.

“I feel we’ve taken the band to another level,” explains vocalist Richie Kotzen. “The compositions are stronger on this album. I feel more connected lyrically and musically to what I did on this record than on the last one. We’ve widened the musical scope of the band on this record and moved it forward."

Drummer Mike Portnoy continues, “Everything on this album was more of a collaboration than on the first album. There’s just a natural chemistry. The three of us really mesh very, very well, both musically and personally. The mission of this band is to write catchy songs, and not have the musicianship overpower that.”

“I’m glad we’re not playing it safe and just doing songs that automatically fit in the category of what we did on the first record,” Bassist Billy Sheehan concludes. “Some of them are a little different, and we definitely took chances. And you have to do that -- otherwise, you don’t grow."

While "Oblivion" is the lead single from the disc, other key tracks singled out in the press release for the album include the strum and headbang of "Captain Love," the propulsive "The Bridge" and the introspective, harmony-driven "Fire."

Look for the band infusing some of the new material into their shows when they hit the road on Oct. 3 in Ridgefield, Conn. U.S. dates run through early November. Check out the album's track listing and the band's tour dates below.
