Stephen Coronel, 63, who was the guitarist of Wicked Lester (the band featuring Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons before they formed KISS), was arrested on Sept. 26 for child pornography charges.

From 1970-1971, Coronel played lead guitar for Wicked Lester, sharing the stage with future KISS legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. After Coronel had parted ways with Wicked Lester, Stanley and Simmons went on to team with guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss to form KISS.

In 2001, KISS released 'The Box Set,' which features the Wicked Lester songs, 'Keep Me Waiting,' 'Love Her All I Can' and 'She,' the last of which Coronel shares songwriting credits with Gene Simmons. Coronel also helped write the KISS classic 'Goin' Blind.'

At approximately 10:55 AM on Sept. 26, police arrested Coronel for allegedly uploading child pornography. According to the Charlotte Observer, Coronel was booked later that afternoon and charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor (though his Beaufort Public Safety arrest record shows only one count) after authorities searched the man's apartment. Deputies seized a number of electronic devices along with other evidence, which will receive forensic analysis.

An investigation of Stephen Coronel began after the U.S. Department of Justice's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force determined that child pornography had been uploaded from a in Bluffton, McIntosh residence. Stay tuned for further updates on this case.
