It was a time when Seether, The Mars Volta and Thirty Seconds to Mars were trying to keep the momentum going with their second albums. Nine Inch Nails were returning to the fray after a lengthy recording layoff and a new band out of Australia called Wolfmother was reminding everyone of classic hard rock's heyday.
