Another Anthrax member is taking time off from the band's current tour with Testament. This time its bassist Frank Bello, who is temporarily exiting the trek to be with his ailing grandmother. Joey Vera of Armored Saint and Fates Warning will fill in for Bello during his absence.

Bello tweeted, “Hey friends, I’m sorry to tell you that I need to go home to be with my grandmother who is very sick, so I wont be playing the next few shows.”

Bello continues, “My good friend Joey Vera will be filling in for me with Anthrax during this painful time. Please make him feel welcome. I’ll be back asap.”

As we previously reported, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante has also left the trek to be beside his terminally ill mother. Testament stickman Gene Hoglan will be doing double duty on tour by filling in for Benante.

In addition, Anthrax axeman Scott Ian missed out on some shows due to a severe viral infection but has returned to the lineup. Check out the full list of remaining dates for Anthrax’s co-headlining tour with Testament here.
