‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Scores Five Oscar Nominations

Will they be the champions of the world come Oscar night? That remains to be seen, but fresh off of a solid pull at the Golden Globes, Queen's Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has received five Oscar nominations, including a coveted Best Picture Nomination.

The film will face off against Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, The Favourite, Green Book, Roma, A Star Is Born and Vice for Best Picture. After his Golden Globe win for Best Actor, Rami Malek, who portrayed Mercury in the film, also received a Best Actor nomination alongside Vice's Christian Bale, A Star Is Born's Bradley Cooper, At Eternity's Gate's Willem Dafoe and Green Book's Viggo Mortensen.

Bohemian Rhapsody's other three nominations came in technical fields, where they will vie for Oscars in Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Film Editing.

The 91st Academy Awards will take place Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Calif., with the ceremony airing at 8PM ET on ABC.
