Every couple of years, Poison return for a summer tour and some recent remarks from singer Bret Michaels have indicated that a 2020 run is in the works.

"I'm working real hard right now to put together something incredible with some other bands for next summer," Michaels told Billboard after expressing that "2020 is really the dream."

If the tour comes to fruition, it will be Poison's first live dates since July of 2018, when they toured with Cheap Trick and Pop Evil. The singer, however, has been gigging almost nonstop since Poison got off the road, maintaining his solo career and he last released the single "Unbroken," which he co-wrote with his daughter, Jorja.

The frontman insisted that new music from Poison "would be amazing," but had doubts that they would write and record an entire album. "At least one song," he said, "I'd love to do that. It's definitely on the wish list."

These words echo what Michaels told Loudwire last year as Poison were winding down their tour. "We’ve already written one song on the road that we’ve been jamming at soundcheck," he disclosed, noting, "It really sounds good — it’s a very modern song with a great feel and great hook."

"There’s a second one we’re working on too," the singer later revealed.

"I think we’ll have one for the next tour," Michaels told us, looking ahead when stating, "Poison will take [2019] off and I’ll be out solo and then Poison [will hit the road] in 2020 with the new single."

Poison last released the Poison'd covers collection in 2007 with their most recent single being "SexyBack," which was their take on the Justin Timberlake hit.
