We've seen more and more rock musicians expand upon their musical passions by dipping their toes in the film and TV scoring world and the latest rocker to try his talents in this area is Bush's Gavin Rossdale. During our recent chat about Bush's current single "This Is War," the singer revealed that he had worked on a new A&E series titled Undercover High.

The vocalist told us, "I just finished scoring a show for A&E called Undercover High that's about to come out. I just did the title song and did the scoring for that. I hope to be doing a bit more soundtrack work."

According to A&E's description, Undercover High follows seven young adults, ranging in age from 21 to 26, who embed themselves for a semester in Topeka, Kansas' Highland Park High School. The participants pose as typical students–attending classes, making friends and participating in school clubs and activities–to provide an inside look at what it’s like to be a teenager today. Each of the "students" arrive with personal motivations driving them to help enact positive change, and the participants, unaware of each other, arrive on campus where only the school administrators and select members of the community know their true identities and the reason for their semester-long stay.

The singer shared his thrill over getting to work in the scoring field, stating, "I think it's a real exciting area. I'm always looking at simple things. I travel to play in Bush otherwise I have to be here [in Los Angeles] pretty consistently. I've always loved film and TV. I love documentaries. To incorporate the work and stuff I've learned from music and put it to visuals is something I've always wanted to do. It's just hard to get your first job and now I've got my first job."

Speaking about Undercover High, Rossdale stated, "A&E did an incredible show. It's just an incredible documentary and so I was just lucky enough to get in and do the music with my partner Shane, so it's good. It's a great world to be in and let's face it, it means I can still do music and don't have to jump around onstage and destroy myself every night to make a good show." The series premieres on A&E Jan. 9 at 10PM ET.

In addition to his scoring work, Rossdale stated that he's got plenty on his plate at the moment. "Well, we're currently booking tours in South America, Europe and then later on America. So there will be plenty of shows and trying to figure out a short new record and then I have some other endeavors I'm doing. The clothing line, I've been working on that. That's been taking up my time ... I hope to be doing a bit more soundtrack work, Bush work, the clothing line and maybe there's a TV show I'm doing but that's a different subject, we're getting there yet and trying to be a good dad. And not in that order, actually, reverse the order," stated the singer.

Look for Rossdale balancing Bush and his other projects as we turn the calendar to 2018.
