Kerry King has teamed up with Dean Guitars to create a limited edition signature guitar. Only 50 of the flying V axes were built in collaboration with the Slayer guitarist, which are now on sale for a devilish $8,666, down from the original price of $11,555.

The mahogany guitar is made in the USA and features a maple top with an ebony Kerry King signature C-shaped neck. It has 24 jumbo frets for easy shredding and a Floyd Rose tremolo bar and locking nut to help keep it in tune. The black satin finish is highlighted with an upside down gloss red cross. It also boasts a Sustainiac neck pick up and a screaming EMG 81 bridge pick up with PA2 Preamp Booster, which allows users to boost their sound with the flip of a switch. The guitar is also equipped with Fiber optic LED side dots. Check it out in all its glory here.

King says, “I’m super stoked to be part of the Dean Guitars family. This has been an insane long time coming! Together we’re going to create some amazing guitars that Dean, Slayer, and Kerry King fans will be as excited as I am to play them. It’s gonna be a wild ride for years to come!”

The Slayer guitarist recently joined Dean Guitars’ roster after years working with B.C. Rich and ESP for his signature axes. The company will release more product information in the near future including more USA and import signature models.

The Dean Guitars website calls King “one of the most instantly recognizable and well-respected musicians in thrash/punk/metal,” who is “known for his allegiance to the Oakland Raiders, his love of snakes, and his taste for Jägermeister.” It adds, “King is outspoken, opinionated and authentic to the core.”

Slayer are currently out on their final world tour. They play the aptly named TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Ill. tonight (Nov. 14). See all their tour dates here.
