Deep Purple Sound Ageless on New Song ‘All I Got Is You’
Deep Purple is one of rock's most prolific acts, now approaching the release of InFinite, their 20th studio effort since their humble beginnings on Shades of Deep Purple in 1968. The band has now offered up a music video for "All I Got Is You," the second single off the forthcoming record.
Though it has been nearly 50 years since the British rockers arrived, they've shown absolutely no signs of age on "All I Got Is You," a song that walks the perfect line between their '70s heyday and the modern age. Ian Paice employs a swinging drum beat, dancing on the ride cymbal as Steve Morse and Don Airey texture the atmosphere with weeping leads and lush keyboard work that quickly turns more frenetic as the rest of the group works their way into the song.
Throughout the music video, we see shots of the band performing in the studio as Ian Gillan stands isolated in a recording booth in front of the microphone. Clips of a crew loading up Deep Purple's road cases for another tour are interspersed with the studio footage as another album cycle for the rock legends begins.
InFinite will be released on April 7 through earMUSIC and pre-orders can be placed through Amazon or digitally through iTunes. Catch Deep Purple on tour this summer with shock rock legend Alice Cooper and the Edgar Winter Group with a list of dates found at our 2017 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
