It was a big hit with music fans last fall, and come this spring you will have a chance to own the Foo Fighters documentary series Sonic Highways in its entirety.

The band has announced an April 7 street date for the deluxe DVD and Blu-Ray offerings of the series. The eight-episode run played out on HBO as the group visited some of the top music scenes in America. At each stop, the band interviewed some of the top musicians who helped build that city's scene and allowed the atmosphere to influence the writing of the Foo's new material.

Among those featured in the series were Rick Nielsen, Ian MacKaye, Joe Walsh, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Zac Brown, Gary Clark Jr., Dolly Parton, Paul Stanley, Nancy Wilson and more. The DVD/Blu-Ray package will expand upon what viewers saw on HBO, with additional interviews and footage featuring President Obama, Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, Public Enemy's Chuck D, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes, Joan Jett, Carrie Underwood and more.

During their journey, the band visited Chicago, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Austin, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Seattle and New York City.

Pre-orders will begin March 9 at the band's website and on iTunes. Fans can also purchase DRM free files direct from the group at this location.
