After a monthlong tournament, Iron Maiden's Steve Harris has been named the Greatest Metal Bassist by our readers! The galloping Maiden mastermind defeated a very worthy opponent, Dream Theater's John Myung, in the final round, earning the title of the Greatest of All Time!

Steve Harris' climb to the top of our tournament began with a victory over Helloween's Markus Grosskopf. After building up some steam, Harris banished Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx from the bracket before triumphing once again over late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray.

Harris' win against Gray brought him to the semifinals, where the Iron Maiden legend fought his most vigorous match to date against late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton. Harris was able to secure his fourth straight victory with his semifinal win, stepping into the final round against Dream Theater virtuoso John Myung. The final round was extremely close, with both Iron Maiden and Dream Theater fans rallying for their floor-rumbling heroes, but in the end, Steve Harris emerged victorious with 51.63% of the vote.

Congratulations to Steve Harris, Iron Maiden and all of the legendary heavy metal act's fans who voted Harris as the Greatest Metal Bassist of all time..

Now, thanks to your votes, we have three-quarters of our Greatest Metal Supergroup complete, with late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell on the axe, Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison behind the kit and Iron Maiden's Steve Harris on the bass. Our fourth and final tournament will launch on Oct. 28 when we begin our search for the Greatest Metal Frontman! Stay tuned!
