Congrats are in order for Islander, as Loudwire readers have voted 'Violence and Destruction' as the 2014 Album of the Year in the 4th Annual Loudwire Music Awards.

The disc proved to be a breakout success for Islander, partly based on the single 'Coconut Dracula' paving the way. And while the track didn't win Best Song honors, it was in the hunt for the top spot. 'Violence and Destruction' has also yielded the late 2014/early 2015 favorite 'New Wave' and features a collaboration with P.O.D.'s Sonny Sandoval on the song 'Criminals.'

It was a hard fought battle with Islander's 'Violence and Destruction' barely edging Linkin Park's 'The Hunting Party' for the honor, while Slash's 'World on Fire' effort finished third in the voting.

Congrats to Islander, as 'Violence and Destruction' has won the 2014 Best Rock Album honors in the Loudwire Music Awards. You can currently catch them playing songs from the disc on tour with Papa Roach, Seether and Kyng. Dates can be found here.
