Thousands of Prodigy fans lined the streets of Essex to celebrate the life of a counterculture icon. Keith Flint’s funeral was held today (March 29) at St. Mary’s Church in Bocking while the procession led through the singer’s hometown of Braintree.

Fans are still processing the suicide of Flint, but they were able to get some closure while listening to music, enjoying some beer and even cosplaying as the Prodigy legend.

Answering the band’s call to “raise the roof for Keef,” thousands from around the world stood along the 1.5-mile procession as Flint’s casket passed by. Students in the area were even allowed to go home from school early to accommodate the anticipated traffic for Flint’s memorial.

While speaking with the BBC, a fan even shared a poem she had written for Keith:
