Italian metal mavens Lacuna Coil have made their fans extremely happy by revealing the release date for their new single.

'Trip the Darkness,' which will appear on the band's forthcoming effort 'Dark Adrenaline,' is due out on Oct. 17 in Europe and on Oct 18 in the U.S. So mark your calendars, all you fans of female-fronted metal!

The band has yet to reveal a release date for ‘Dark Adrenaline,’ but it is expected to drop in early 2012 via Century Media Records.

Vocalist Andrea Ferro recently shared details about the album's sonics with Revolver magazine. He said, “We have different kinds of songs — some are pretty heavy with a really powerful groove and some killer riffs, some have a darker vibe a bit more in our traditional style, and some others are more anthemic. In my opinion, it's a great collection of metal and rock songs."

'Dark Adrenaline' was produced by Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine). Ferro also commented on working with Gilmore for the second time, revealing that the knob twiddler voices his honest opinion when working with the band. Ferro said, “It's important to have someone like Don come in and give you a sincere opinion of the songs. He is helping us in keeping things fresh, and getting our sound together for 2011.”

Lacuna Coil are also headed on tour, with a string of dates planned for their native Italy in October. North American fans will just have to patiently wait their turn.
