Relapse Records picked themselves a winner with Lord Dying, the label having recently signed the band to release Lord Dying's debut full-length, 'Summon the Faithless.' For fans of thrash, sludge and doom metal, we highly recommend that you check out Lord Dying's crunchy new track 'Descend Into External,' and you can only experience the song right here on Loudwire!

Hailing from Portland, Ore., Lord Dying have only been active since 2010. Although still in its infant stages, the band hone some serious songwriting chops. The Lovecraft-loving band is comprised of frontman E. Olson, bassist D. Capuano, drummer / vocalist J. Reid and guitarist C. Evans, and they each bring much strength to 'Descend Into External.'

"Lord Dying come from Portland, Oregon, a place over abundant with purveyors of the heavy riff," the band's Facebook bio begins. "A region where the inhabitants are plagued with nerve and joint damage due to lack of sunlight. In a time where everyone is trying to out-sludge or out-doom each other Lord Dying gives something less than a f---."

There have been many bands formed in the 2000s that have shaped the landscape of metal for the better, but for this decade, Lord Dying may be one of the first bands to achieve that same feat.
