Get the kiddies started young on hard rock and metal, right? That seems to be the case with the Mini Band, a Thatcham, United Kingdom-based outfit made up of 8- and 10-year-olds whose recent YouTube performance of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ is speedily becoming an Internet sensation, taking in almost there million views since early October.

Even the men of Metallica are impressed. The guys took to YouTube to post a one-minute video clip singing the heavy metal praises of the Mini Band.

“By the time you guys are our age, so you’re to be so incredibly great!” guitarist Kirk Hammett gushed in the clip, before bass slinger Robert Trujillo responded, “They’re already incredibly great, man.”

“You guys rock! You guys are very cool,” added drummed Lars Ulrich. “Maybe someday, we can work something out. We could come out and open up for all y’all, if you guys will have us. We’re just getting started. We’re an up-and-coming hard rock band out in Northern California, so if you’ll have us, we’re there for the taking.” Something tells us the Mini Band might try to take Metallica up on that offer!
