This is not a test! Of Mice & Men have gone downright apocalyptic with their latest song and video, "Mushroom Cloud." You can hear the song and watch the video below.

Following on the heels of fellow non-album single "How to Survive," you have to wonder if Of Mice & Men are building toward a thematic release of some kind. The Mark Lediard-directed video finds the band performing in a darkened shack as black clouds loom over a city and darkened figures with lights for eyes roam the desecrated landscape remaining after nuclear disaster.

The track itself is one of the heavier songs you'll hear in Of Mice & Men's catalog, with singer Aaron Pauley in full aggression against the backdrop of some killer low end and double-kick drum heaviness. While the video seems to speak more to a dystopian post-apocalypse world, the song is more about the volatile nature of someone's mind on edge.

Singer Aaron Pauley states, "I was pretty young when I became aware of the danger of spending too much time in my own head. My mind has never been a safe place for me to retreat to, and it's something I have to consciously deal with on a daily basis. 'Mushroom Cloud' is our visceral representation of how it feels to be trapped, how it feels to be cut down by your own inner voice, how it feels to have nowhere to hide, and how it feels to be someone with a mind that's as dangerous to themselves as the aftermath of an atomic weapon."

The track will likely give fans a new reason to get involved live, joining Pauley as he sings, "3, 2, 1, Boom!" Check out the lyrics for the track below and if you like the song, it's available at this location.

Have you ever felt the chains of life around your wrist,
When it shoves the grenade right in your mouth then pulls the pin,
And do you really know just what it's like to never fucking sleep,
Or what it's like to remind yourself that the voices don't pull the strings,

They're not real to you but they're real to me,
I know I'm spiraling,
I'm just waiting to detonate,

3, 2, 1, Boom.
Countdown to insanity,
Ignite the fuse and immolate,
I've got a mind like a mushroom cloud,
I'll either perish in the flames or be frozen in the fallout.

Can someone sound alarm?
This is not a test, I repeat this is not a test.

Does anyone hear the screaming,
from the trojan horse burning inside of my head?
If hell is really empty,
Then maybe the demons found a home in there instead.

They're not real to you, but they're real to me.
They set my mind ablaze every time that I detonate.

3, 2, 1, Boom.
Countdown to insanity,
Ignite the fuse and immolate,
I've got a mind like a mushroom cloud,
I'll either perish in the flames or be frozen in the fallout.

I am in control.
But where do you hide,
when the thoughts running through your mind trip?
Where do you hide,
when the thoughts running through your head trip the landmine?

Boom.

I've got a mind like a mushroom cloud.
