Though he's spent the better part of the last decade focusing on making his band Thirty Seconds to Mars a success, Jared Leto stepped back into the acting arena triumphantly with his Oscar winning role in Dallas Buyers Club. Now Leto is getting ready to hit the big screen again in the iconic role of The Joker in the highly anticipated 2016 flick, Suicide Squad.

For those not in the know, the film finds some of the DC Universe's greatest villains being forced to work against their true nature in order to save the world. Leto's Joker appears alongside Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Adam Beach as Slipnot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis wrangling them all in the role of Amanda Waller.

The trailer debuted at Comic-Con over the weekend with the request that fans not record any footage. But despite the pleas, a poorly pirated copy turned up online much to the dismay of director David Ayer and Warner Bros., who have now turned around the trailer for all to see.

You can check out the clip above, which features many of the film's other characters before getting the highly anticipated look at Leto's Joker. As a haunting version of the Bee Gees' "I Started a Joke" plays over the trailer, the clip ends with a sinister looking Leto emerging from the shadows with what appears to be plans to "shock" his prey, stating, "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm just gonna hurt you really, really bad."

Check out the trailer above and start getting ready for Suicide Squad, expected to arrive in August of 2016.
