The Smashing Pumpkins are back at work on new music. In a new interview with Interesting People Talking Wrestling, Pumpkins mastermind Billy Corgan reveals that he's been working on a new book, plus a new album from the band.

During the interview, Corgan discloses that he had just spent six hours writing on the book and had also been working out a new song. As for when fans might expect new music, the frontman states, "We're just starting to work on a [new] album now, so I'd say sometime early next year would be reasonable." As for the book, he adds that it likely wouldn't arrive until 2014, too. He also reveals that he's been working on a reality show for Resistance Pro Wrestling.

In the meanwhile, Smashing Pumpkins continue to book dates in support of their 'Oceania' album. The latest is expected to take place at South by Southwest next week. A Smashing Pumpkins show had been rumored heavily of late, and the Sword may have ruined the surprise. The hard rocking outfit posted on Facebook that they were playing a show with the Smashing Pumpkins as a concert alert. However, that post has since been taken down, but not before Crestfallen.com grabbed a screen shot.

The show will take place at the Red Bull Pop Up Venue at 310 E. 3rd St in Austin on March 16. To hear Corgan's full interview with Interesting People Talking Wrestling, which obviously focuses on his wrestling passion, check here.
