Stephen Pearcy, Juan Croucier + Warren DeMartini Reunite Under Ratt Name, Perform First Show
If you've been following Ratt recently, you're plenty aware of the ongoing legal battle between Stephen Pearcy, Juan Croucier and Warren DeMartini and their former bandmate, drummer Bobby Blotzer, over the rights to the band name. As the saga appears to be winding down, the reunited version featuring the aforementioned trio have played their first concert back together under the Ratt moniker.
Taking the stage on Saturday (Feb. 11), Ratt ran through a 15-song set (seen below via setlist.fm) at the Treasure Island Casino in Welch, Minn. Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini were flanked by guitarist Carlos Cavazo (ex-Quiet Riot) and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-Megadeth, ex-Alice Cooper) to complete the lineup.
Ratt expectedly broke out all the classics, like "Round and Round" (video above) which closed out the night, "Wanted Man" (video below), "Way Cool Jr.," "Body Talk," "Back for More," "Lay It Down" and others.
Throughout the legal battle, Blotzer has toured with his own version of Ratt, struggling to keep his chances of retaining the name in court. The drummer issued an appeal based on a technicality regarding the trademark over the name, but a judge denied this and it appears as though the trio will be allowed to move forward using the Ratt name.
