Stray From the Path Issue Fiery Reprisal 'The First Will Be Last'

New York hardcore stalwarts Stray From the Path are back with the latest audio assault from their upcoming album Internal Atomics, out Nov. 1. It's called "The First Will Be Last." While the tune focuses on the plight of the meek amongst an uncharitable Earth, it's not exactly a summary of Matthew 20:16.

Instead, Stray From the Path vocalist Drew Dijorio (aka "Drew York") uses the band's blistering sonics to offer a breathless diatribe concerned with the type of psychic retribution often willed on the selfish. "A big topic of the whole record is we want people to start acknowledging that some people don't have everything that we have in America," guitarist Tom Williams told Billboard. "We've been to the highest places like Japan, where cops don't carry guns and the society is super overworked, and we've been to Africa, where people can't turn on their faucets without getting sick because their water is so unclean."

He continued, "We've experienced all this stuff around the world, but we have people here who are clutching their pearls and wanting to protect their money, and they don't understand that other people don't have that.”

The latest Stray From the Path track is preceded by the band's singles "Actions Not Words," "Kickback" (featuring Counterparts' Brendan Murphy) and the unstoppable anthem "Fortune Teller". Pre-order Internal Atomics here. See the group's upcoming tour dates here.
